Here's the list of registered guilds for the AoTTG Summer Olympics.

If your guild is highlighted in red, contact ninnymonger on Skype ASAP or your guild will be disqualified from the tournament.

Edit: All guilds highlighted in red NEED to contact ninnymonger on Skype by June 10th or else you will be disqualified from the tournament. We are putting this on short notice because we need to begin putting the matches together and planning the tournament as soon as possible. If we can not establish communication with you, we can not have you in the tournament.

We have gotten an unbelievable number of players registering for the summer games. We are incredibly excited and humbled by the sheer volume. It's nice to see that so many in our community are so eager to compete.

When we started planning in January, we estimated that 20 guilds would compete with about 200 players total. As of our posting this, we are now at 68 guilds, with no less than 400 players. We need some help.

Hosting
We need more hosts for the games. Currently, we have 8.

Host | Region

ninnymonger | US
Niko | US
GUEST [-----] | US
TheTechDweller | EU
MJ | EU
CWRob | EU
MrLapin | EU
Grav | EU
Raz | EU

We are looking for more hosts for all regions, and at least 1 for Asia and 1 for Japan.

Please reach out to /u/ninnymonger on Skype. His Skype is ninnymonger.

#Translators:
ASO is an international tournament, truly. We have registrations forms from all game regions and from at least a dozen countries.

We are asking for a team of translators for the following languages:

1. Portuguese
1. Spanish
1. German
1. Russian
1. French

You don't have to be a full time translator, as long as you can be available for these days and times: MASTER CALENDAR: http://goo.gl/dqIBtr

Important Announcement: We'll be doing preliminary matches for the Lava and Damage Duel events from the 27th of June to the 30th of June. Guilds' teams will play their first round for these two events. Don't worry about who you're fighting against, we'll take care of that and let you know later.

These matches will help lighten the burden of the ASO staff and make the Stream more enjoyable for everyone to watch. To sign up for Preliminary matches, schedule yourself for either of the events at these links:

Time Zone Converter: http://www.thetimezoneconverter.com/
(Use this to convert the schedule to your time zone by writing "EST" in the bottom-right box and "Local Time" in the bottom-left box)

Lava: http://doodle.com/iwtned3sbs2d8wxi

Damage Duel: http://doodle.com/abydupsnidas4r4i

ALL GUILD LEADERS SHOULD SEND AN EMAIL TO summerolympicsaottg@gmail.com WITH THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION

-Include your guild's name in the subject of the email
-Put your IGN in the body of the email
-Put your Skype contact information as well as any other information we can use to contact you (i.e social media, Facebook, Kik, etc.)
-List your guild's availability for preliminaries (When from June 27th - June 30th will your guild's Damage 2v2 and Forest 4 teams be available to play?)
-Additional comments/questions regarding ASO

If your team can't make it to preliminaries, then you'll just play the first round for those two events during ASO. Otherwise, we'll see you then.

Final Salt ASO statement (Organization, Reelrebinder, Saltiness, Recap, etc.)

Okay I think we, as a whole guild, have to explain our motives and why we were upset about this whole tournament and I guess that everyone knows already what one of our problem was/is and that is the Reel-Rebind, but despite that we think that the ASO tournament was a neat idea, and we respect the players and modders that were in charge of the organization doing all the work and preparation in the last weeks .

First of all, WE ARE NOT SALTY because we didn't win the tournament or a certain event. We weren't even competing in all events. We signed up to compare ourselves in our best categories to the rest of the AoTTG community. We had no interest in trolling and spamming or whatever. We only wanted to play a competitive game and see how far we can go.

We knew that Reel-Rebind was allowed in ASO and we were already preparing for ourselves to be upset/salty/raging, because we would lose to someone who (ab)used this technique and we probably should've thought further ahead, but in the heat of the moment we totally lost our shit, not only because of the Rebind, but also because of other ASO organizing-related things that happened.

It's safe to say that we weren't that popular to begin with, but we don't really believe that the whole streaming and even the whole design of the events weren't neutral to begin with. I know that the majority of the casters were JB's and rooting for their team, but the way the others were only barely mentioned, was a bit biased. Of course everyone wanted to see JB, Legacy, etc. in the finals and not some weird ass salty Germans but the way the "more popular" guilds got preferential bracket positioning wasn't really something we approved of. I can see that this was for the entertainment value and to make it as exciting as possible for the viewers when the top guilds would meet each other in the finals, but it's just that I saw a certain pattern all over again and that is the top guilds only facing each other not earlier than in the quarter/8th finals. There weren't first bracket standoffs like KoR vs JB for example. What I want to say is that next time a tournament like this is planned, you should have a way to position the guilds in the brackets with (i.e.) polls to get the favorites, or just look who topped in the last tournaments and place them according to that in a certain order but not choosing yourselves which guilds you think are the best ones and what layout you think will be the most exciting for a tournament. That is ofc only nitpicking and rather a suggestion for the next time than criticism. The next thing however...

When we were up against Legacy in the semi-finals there was a problem with our host so we had to look for another one and the Legacy players said their game lagged so the host changed once again, but now from EU to US and that was, of course in favor of, Legacy. And I won't say it would've been ok if Legacy had the ping disadvantage, because for the match to be equal and fair the host had to live on an island in the center of the Atlantic ocean, but the way the host was just changed and we weren't even asked if that was okay only showed us that "someone" was preferred. And I really cannot say who would've won if we hadn't had to play with a ping of 200 m/s. That match just wasn't fair and there was no solution to that but the way it turned out to be, just felt really disrespected for us and that was probably the spark that ignited the shitstorm.

And now to the Reel-Rebind... What was once a neat little program, to help players who didn't want to reel with scrolling or simply with broken mousewheels, is abused for a certain technique and it is now a part of the biggest mod in the game, which allowed a whole new play style. My personal problem with that is that it still is not part of the actual game and you cannot do anything comparable to that in the game. I know that Feng legitimized that but I'm pretty sure he saw it as a preferential customizing tool so that people could (why ever someone would want that) rebind the reel in to another key so they could use attack on "mwheeldown" for example but NOT so that players could abuse the outreel creating a new technique of killing titans with high damage easily or outmaneuvering obstacles that easy. Actually the last one isn't that bad as it is somewhat a logical thing you would do with an outreel BUT the fact that you can abuse this for damage, makes it as bad as the other one and is just something we, as a guild, do not approve of and I'm pretty sure that we aren't the only ones sharing that opinion.
We even tried to contact the ones in charge of the tournament but we didn't get any reply whatsoever.
The day Feng bans mods he will probably implement an in-game version of the rebind and then we will probably have to adapt to this play style as well, but for now we still think that it is kind of a "hack" executed from an external program to gain advantage over someone who doesn't have it. And I think you can understand the accusations of it being "overpowered" if you look at the damage numbers.

Overall I think we did well in the tournament, even without a rebind, until our disqualify, which was 100% justified in our opinions. And I can speak for the whole guild when I say:

"We apologize to the organizers of ASO and other players we might have upset with our childish behavior. We disrespected the Community and embarrassed ourselves as a guild in front of you. I hope you can understand still our concerns with that problem though and let us participate in the next tournaments."

And we even have a gift for the community, a product we currently produce form a very old recipe ,the founders of our guild retrieved from an old Chinese Monk:

Oh my god this is gold. Please don't delete your post when everybody starts going apeshit over it.

Absolutely everybody has access to RC MOD nowadays, saying that it's only limited to some people is just plain stupid. Plus, if I wanted to I could make a whole guild dedicated to hating people who scroll in because everybody in that guild has a trackpad and can't reel it. Not everybody has access to mice so by your argument, scrolling in is now hacking ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Oh yeah some people are on Macs and can't use their scroll wheel so they have to use reel rebind (Thanks Ninny!)

So apparently you're angry because they used Reel rebind and you consider it as abusive?
It doesn't matter what you or your guild think at this stage lol, reel rebind is considered a "legal" tool and you are the only ones at fault for not utilizing it.
IMO your whole argument is retarded because you blatantly claim that rebinding the reel is illegal. Not to be rude, but who the fuck are you to say it's illegal? lol

i can say that if you are complaniing for something that is so clear, i don't know what to think about you.
it's like saying that "using googles and a apropiate swimsuit at a swiming competition is bad because, your are supposed to swim naked"(yeah this analogy is weird as fuck but in my native laguange it make a lot of sense)
guys just let it go, don't be so salty(you have all the rights to be salty but not in this scale)

i don't think bad about you and i know you don't give a shit about what i think about you either, but if you are pulling this out of nowhere i prefer being away from you.
