How to defeat the Colossal Titan

Postby Mr.Stuff » Tue Dec 31, 2013 5:40 pm

I have a plan to defeat the colossal titan. It is nearly impossible to solo or kill him with two players. You should have at least three players and have a strategical layout somewhat like this(last night I had a team and we were very close to beating him until I had to go):

There are three strategies that work perfectly against the colossal titan. Don't screw up though, or else you will fail.

Host:Mr.Stuff
Team: Grell,LEVI,Link,Dethrius(can't remember how to spell it)
Mr.Stuff-Eren
Grell-Petra
LEVI-Levi
Link-Petra
Dethrius-Sasha

How last night went:
Strategy #1
Four people defending the citizens (Me,Grell,Link,LEVI)
Dethrius attacking the colossal titan.
Definitely works, but it is going to take insanely long to kill the colossal titan.

Strategy #2
Three people defending the citizens(Me,LEVI,Link)
Two people attacking the colossal titan(Dethrius,Grell)
Dethrius dealt 1280+ damage
This was great..until I realized that Grell didn't do any damage and Link left.
Someone lets titan pass and we start over.

Strategy #3
Two people defending the citizens(Me,LEVI)
LEVI leaves
Two[later one] people attacking colossal titan(Dethrius, Grell)
Dethrius tells Grell to defend.
This strategy works too, and it was the best. Unfortunately I had to leave.

And that is how to beat the colossal titan. Please tell me if I missed anything.

Basically: 2 people on the first avenue outside the hole, others go for the CT. If you have respawns, this will work 100% of the time (given you're not a beginner).

Sometimes I play with just one friend and we can make it work pretty easily (respawns obviously). I camp at the hole and kill the titans and he attacks the CT. If we get bored, we switch. It may be slow and tedious, but it definitely works.

In my opinion, the best bet against CT is always only having one person that's good at damaging him go up against CT. If multiple people attack the CT at once, they'll just get each other killed with the steam.

That means the best way to kill the CT is to put Blizzard on CT duty while the rest clears up abnormals. Easiest win ever. Works on all difficulties.

Blizz could probably just solo it. >_>

Admitting you were wrong there, Accelevi? ;)
Also, he soloed it on normal. We obviously want to see hard and abnormal victories too. Preferably solo.

I found that if you fly backwards right before the yellow steam, you should latch (facing away from the colossal) with one hook and reel in using the momentum from his steam to produce some insane hits.

Yes, that could work, but you shouldn't be able to fire hooks through the steam anyways.
