It's just a vector strike.
You just swing down instead. It's like a vector drop, instead you just swing yourself slightly longer so you curve around.

I clearly swung sideways twice.
This has nothing to do with a vector drop.

It's just a minor, pointless derivative of a Vector already.
You just go down, and then across and back up if I recall correctly.

You don't need reel to do a pendulum, so no.
If it's pointless you might wanna watch the video again.

You actually do need some sort of pendulum to do reel.
Feng himself said so.
Even if it's just the beginning of the motion.

I said you don't need to reel to do a pendulum, not you don't need a pendulum to reel.

I don't know how I misread that.
Isn't reel counterproductive cause it pulls you extremely fast in a straight line?

Maybe, but I'm used to reeling so it's far easier for me.
If you hook a vertical surface you will be pulled slightly down by gravity even if you reel, so you can do a curve quite well
