Vortex hook tutorial (an add-on to the traditional cut)

Postby TOMANITY » Sat Apr 19, 2014 10:29 pm

This is not a technique, just a game mechanic to use with the traditional cut. It achieves high damage without reeling (my highest with it is 2.2k). It is very hard, and probably isn't very practical yet, but is very cool and a good way to get high hits. It is still in making process, and I will edit the methods if I find a better way. If you find the method hard to understand, tell me, and I will explain or change it.

Also, is this the first 2k without reeling? (apart from chronos lee)

It's just an alternate version of the Trad cut, and Tailex already uses it, and I do too.

Umm.. Didn't I already say it was just an "add-on" to the traditional cut?

I like to call this "doublehooking". :I

Also, I don't see how it's impractical.
Trad cuts are often the fastest option in some situation, and doublehooking just makes life easier when you have to use it.

I'm just saying vortex hook is impractical, because you use the mechanic where one hook goes on the opposite side, which drags you towards the tree really fast, so you often end up hitting the tree. Whereas if the 2 hooks are on the same side, it doesn't have the effect the vortex (just realised the name is quite gay) hook has.

and I know the original trad cut is really practical, because I use it all the time.

It's just like an alternate equator cut, with the one hook to chest, one to nose, but with trad.
