Yes, it's the highest possible ping. The largest number it can be (16-bit).

so anyone got any other ideas? In the lobby I can have great ping but still get booted out once the host starts :cry:

There's nothing you can do. It's entirely the host's fault.

I've gotta vote on it being the host's fault for this one, as a lot of people seem to get kicked out of my games.

And none ever get kicked out of mine. Not everyone can set up their networks properly (well, the vast majority), which leads to faulty servers (if they can open them at all). The only thing I can really suggest if for everyone to read up about Port Forwarding/Triggering, NAT and things alike.

People can join the lobby great for me, I've set it all up and there's like a 5% chance someone will stay to play so yeah if it says the whole not recommended, take that into serious consideration before setting one up and don't bank on people staying in the game.
