Alrighty then, but how come Jean was able to use a dead comrades 3DMG? or why did he want to get it even though the 3DMG is modified to the wearer.

He could, but it was really difficult for him. Connie had to save him from a Titan even after he took the other 3DMG, because the triggers were so hard to pull that he fell as soon as he started using the hooks and a Titan nearly caught him that way.

He was fortunate he could actually at least use it though.

Why the hell would he have tons of trouble trying to pull a trigger because it's customized?
It was just damaged because well, the soldier he took it from died.

If it was damaged then how would it work 0_0 Maybe the soldier was bigger than Jean, so his 3DMG controls were customized to be harder to pull so that he didn't keep accidentally shooting hooks or using gas.
Also, Annie uses her own 3DMG to kill Sawney and Bean because anyone else's 3DMG would have been too awkward to use. This is an overused example, but it's solid proof that 3DMG is unique to the soldier in some way.

This is from my perspective but almost the same thing, Maybe, since the technology isn't perfect enough, every 3DMG has it's own kinks. Imagine it that every model is not all machine made but hand made, which means it would have differences when compared. Ever had nerf guns? some guns always shoot a bit in their own way. like one always shoots a bit to the left. So Annie would be most comfortable using hers because she knows how it will act.

Why would she need the full 3DMG when she could just use the blades.

To get away quickly. The anime answers that.
