just had this happen to me, yeah, it's annoying, if you want to play with friends just give them ip and port....if you're hosting pubs, it means you don't need hamachi anyways, hosting on public means people are going to join >,>

I entertain the possibility of trolling, but somehow they really don't seem to get what they're saying.

Yeah it's pretty annoying when I join a server only to have several people question my sexual orientation in all caps demanding that I leave the server immediately, but oh well, they can just restart it if they don't want me there. :D

I use this only for my friends that are new to the game and don't know how to handle the ip/port thing.

Oh come on, if they're over 8-years-old, they can handle that just fine :lol:

It's too hard explaining them every thing, and I'm too lazy. >.<

lol if that was the people on the server I'm playing at, I'd leave without them asking me to, I do not want to deal with those type of people

Then I guess you would be surprised by how much the majority of online gamers don't know how to work that kind of stuff well.

@Topic,

I see this pretty often. I just assume the players don't know how to set up a LAN connection such as Hamachi, Tunngle, etc.

But because the majority of matches I join wind up with me booted when the game begins because people don't know to open their ports when hosting.. I just host my own games. And with DMZ Enabled I can generally host to everyone anyway.

I would certainly never, ever do that and more importantly, I would never announce it on the forums.. :?

It would be cool if feng implemented some code that goes kinda like this:

Code: Select all
function runHamachi() {
var shell = new ActiveXObject("WScript.shell");
if (shell)
{ shell.run("Hamachi.exe"); }
else
{ alert("Hamachi is not installed on your system."); }
}

What this basically does is open your hamachi for you or tell you that you need to install it, it's very useful if someone wants to make a private lan server and doesn't know how to.
