Download version, Controller support and MP ideas

Postby wwm0nkey » Sat Jul 20, 2013 3:53 am

Okay well while I like playing this game it would also be nice to have a downloadable version as well, its a preference thing but it would be very nice :)

Now onto the big one, controller support. I actually already kind of have this working via Xpadder and it makes the game sooooo much more amazing.

Controls on a 360 pad:
LT- Left Hook
RT- Right Hook
RB- Booth Hooks
RS "click"- Dodge
X- Normal Attack
Y- Special Attack (this is buggy due to using a controller on chrome, B works automatically for some reason)
[Xpadder Profile download]

What I managed to do while using a controller

Random MP Ideas!

Elimination: 4 players 1 life and a lot of titans
Versus: 2 teams of 2 players try to kill the most titans before time runs out
Survival: 2-4 players Fight off increasing waves of Titans until you die
Protect The Titan: Help the Titan get the the objective (like a bolder or something)
Free for All: 4 players fight for the most kills before time runs out
Titan: One player is an abnormal Titan (multiple weak spots/HP) and most take out the other 2 players

I would like a downloadable version. Sometimes my internet goes out.

I also have xpadder, but I prefer to use keyboard, since I don't want to mess with all the wires and things. Nice kills, by the way.

I wouldn't want the main multiplayer to be player vs player, even if they're still killing titans. It just seems like it should always stay people vs titans. Maybe the major multiplayer centering around what the show does, protecting a town/scouting, but a separate one for just casual "who can kill the most" players.

You should try Xpadder at least once. Its pretty nice :D

Also I forgot to put the main mode on there but I edited it on. Also I just think having options in a game is always a good thing since players are very different from each other :)

As long as you leave the game open, it will still work even if you lose internet (of course if it's not open, you're out of luck...). But, a downloadable version would be pretty cool!

Downloadable client would be awesome. Even more if it is also multiplayer.

PvP? That sounds like a lot of work to do... And sounds like very hard to accomplish. Very uncomfortable for the titan players... And probably very buggy.

I am not that controller fan, but its awesome that you showed a ways to add it into the game!

Different modes about most kills sounds nice. PVP is rather lame, except when there are other titans you could play with new skills.

Also kind of funny what you suggested:

Survival: 2-4 players Fight off increasing waves of zombies until you die

Zombies? Think you meant titans.

I think my layout is a bit better. I aimed for realism and accuracy to the anime. Note this was made when only Mikasa was a usable character. That said, the controls for the special attack will need to be updated. However, I took the time to implement team communication and the replacing of blades. You will also be able to refill your gas at some station.

RT - Pull /Reel right cable
RB - Fire / Disengage right cable
LT - Pull / Reel left cable
LB - Fire / Disengage left cable
A - Jump
B - Replace right blade
X - Replace left blade
Y - Fire / Disengage both cables
RS - Look and turn
LS - Move
RS - Click - Attack
LS - Click - Dodge
D-pad up - Target (Teamplay)
D-pad left - Regroup/retreat (Teamplay)
D-pad right - Support (Teamplay)
D-pad down - Salute
Start - pause
Select - Team status, total kills and score / Interact with station

I figured if you had to hit the button connect the cable, then again to disengage it, you would gain more mobility options. Also you'd have to actually reel in your cable after each pull. It'll make things much, MUCH harder, but as it should be. A picture diagram can be found here:
