It looks pretty nice, I glanced over it.
But the torso looks really wide, and the arms look a bit thin compared to it.

i think the biggest difference between yours and http://i.imgur.com/YR20F8h.png is that the original image's pose is slanted to one side with the body following its natural rhythm, making character look more relaxed. in your image, the pose is a little stiff, and there is not enough suggestion that his torso is pinched at the tenth rib and leaning forward.
a small detail is to keep in mind the life of the contours by the end of making image. for example, in original image, character's right shoulder has a stiff crease in shirt, following a linear shadow. on yours, however, shadow becomes rounded. this may be small detail to think about, but it is important to know why certain things are drawn as they are.

aside from that, referencing image can always be helpful. but i suggest studying fundamental as well as your inspiration to improve more quickly. :D

good luck and keep at it! ^^

The Gurren Lagann one looks really cool I like this one the most. The coloring is really good!
Colossal looks good, too. But the face is to broad in my opinion.
Your OC's pose looks a bit strange. Seems uncomfortable for me but the rest is fine.
