Gif to signature help

Postby Wheaters » Thu Mar 06, 2014 2:47 am

I guess this would go in off-topic. Can someone explain how to add a gif to my signature x3? I've been wanting one for a while, slobbering at other's gifs, looking at you accel. Anyway, it'd be extremely helpful, if you can't explain it yourself, it would be nice for you to link me to a video/document that can.

Not trying to offend anyone, but I really think animated gifs in signatures are the most cancerous thing that users can do to a forum.
Sorry, but i had to say this. :/

Well why are they cancerous?

And just do this:
Code: Select all

Might be. But this has been bugging me since I've joined this forum, and i had to speak my mind.

Add wrote:Well why are they cancerous?

Because they are very, very distracting. I wouldn't turn on the TV next to me, when I'm reading a book.

In the same way, reading any post while the inevitable gif dances around at the top and the bottom of the screen is something that i find extremely unnerving. Take any page from any thread and you will almost always come across several of these. And having to load that extra MB of data per page isn't so great either.
I'd go to YouTube if i wanted to see clips from SnK or other Animes.

I must add, it's not too much of a deal to me anymore, because i (re-)discovered the delights of AdBlock a while ago. So i simply blocked all huge signature gifs that i came across, one after one.
However, i thought that with my post above i might be speaking for at least some others too. Assuming I'm not the only one that wants to be able to read around in this forum, undistracted, without having to create a huge filter list in some Add-On, first.

You could just disable viewing signatures.

So there is an option for that? Sweet.

I want 15 minutes of my lifetime back ;_;

Edit: On the other hand, this blocks everything in that sig, not just the gifs. So for now i'll stick to Adblock i guess.

You're adblocking gifs? What a weirdo.

Also, are we done here now that the question has been answered?
