My Controller Setup

Postby jahob000 » Wed Feb 19, 2014 7:11 am

So I use a PS3 controller when I play AOT. I was suppose to keep practicing with a keyboard and mouse since that's the way the game is designed to be played and is actually the best way for it to be played, but I found the controller easier to catch on. Though it makes it extremely difficult to play fluently and accurately and pull off a lot of the moves that you would use with the Mouse and Keyboard. Just in case there are any other people that use PS3 controllers, here is how I have things set up.

Meh. You're better off with the mouse and Keyboard

Jahob, try switching your Attack and Gas to the back, along with the hooks. Your right thumb should be on camera duty almost exclusively during maneuvering. I don't even know how you can manage with that setup. Try assigning gas to L2 and attacking to R2, that's what I did.

That's actually a good idea. I was thinking of traditional gaming but most games don't require such extensive camera control. I'll give that setup you said a try. I'm glad I posted this.

The controls should be this when one has a XBox Controller:

L Stick: Move
L1: Shoot out hook
L2: Reel in
R Stick: Camera (TP camera should be it)
R1: Shoot out the other hook
R2: Reel out
A: Attack
B: Jump/Gas
X: Special
Y: Salute
Start: Open up the Pause Screen
Select: Restarts the game

That sounds like a good setup. However, if you don't happen to use reeling as much, I'd suggest assigning attacks to RB and LB or something like that, or have hooks on RB and LB while you have the attacks on the triggers.
