Roran's Suspicious Market Stall

Postby Roran Hawkins » Tue Dec 24, 2013 10:41 pm

So I decided to put a thread here after all, to document the stuff I draw about AoT (and more specifically, the story I invented behind my IG character)

I Always post all my stuff on DeviantArt, so feel free to follow me there http://roranhawkins.deviantart.com/

Anyways:

I'll make a storyline here for his character once I finalize details. Enjoy!

The very last picture is by far the best.
For the people, while pretty much everything about the clothes are nicely done, the people themselves need a bit of work.
Alignments/biological structure/anatomy, stuff of that sort. Shading needs some touching up as well.
All in all though, a good set.

In my own defense, I in my own opinion never was good at drawing clothing, especially not clothing. Anatomy on the other had, I have been practising a lot recently. I have taken liberties on the titan's anotomy because it's fun and fits the universe. However, there'll Always remain some faults in the people themselves too, as usual :P In any case, I'm still getting used to drawing manga. I used to draw entirely different, in fact, still do, but manga is new to me. About shading, I didn't really put effort into that. I just added it because it would be unclear without and plainly wrong. Only the pic with just Roran standing there arms crossed behind his back was shaded carefully.

Thanks :)

Ironically enough, the clothing is the best.
On the last picture (I hadn't noticed Roran fully, as the phone screen had cropped the image), his posture is slightly awkward.

Yeah it is, but I didn't use any references for how the people actually use those wires for moving around. I kinda invented that and hoped it'd look sort of alright. There's something weird with his ass and legs there ^^;

The thing I draw the worst is the uniform of the survey corps... Do you look at another drawing while you draw it?

I use references for the uniform yes, and also to see how the drawings in general look, in order to have a somewhat similar drawing style, so my character 'blends' into the canon more. At least, as far as that is possible.
