Became a popular mroe genre after the airing of the last episode of School Days. Other yandere characters include Ryuuguu Rena from Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni series.

I'm pretty sure that one maniacal laugh doesn't mean she's yandere. (Granted, I do agree with you about her being damn sexy during that laugh!)
